Every aspect of my training with the Hampshire SCITT Partnership has been supportive whilst still challenging me to experiment with various teaching methods and school experiences. These have been explored on our training days in schools all over Hampshire, enabling me to get a broad understanding of the teaching profession and its ongoing research. My training has given me confidence and ideas to fuel me in my NQT year and beyond.”

Graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in November 2016
As a provider we are delighted to advise that we were graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in November 2016: “This is outstanding provision. At every level and in every way, highly effective leaders have created a teacher training programme which regularly produces extremely proficient teachers”.
Experience and expertise
The Hampshire SCITT Partnership is a large alliance in Hampshire. As a SCITT, we have the experience and capacity to deliver outstanding training and we feel privileged to be supporting the next generations of outstanding teachers. For the preparation and award of the PGCE we are in partnership with the University of Reading which has a well established and excellent record of initial teacher training.
We are linked with The HISP Research School which is also based at Thornden School in Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh. As one of the new Research Schools in the national network, HISP Research School aims to work collaboratively with schools to help bridge the gap between research evidence and classroom practice. If you train with us, you will benefit from the very best of evidence-based practice.
Our training package
We have created a training package which is tailored to maximise the strengths of both school and university training. From the very start of your training, you will be part of the teaching team in your school. Your programme will include training days across a number of schools in the Hampshire SCITT Partnership, training in your own school, subject specialist days led by outstanding practitioners and personalised training. Expert support by experienced mentors and tutors will help you to develop and refine your teaching skills.
Across our partnership, we work with some of the best schools in Hampshire. You will be training with knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers, committed to education, and leaders in their own fields.
Qualifications
If you complete the course successfully, you will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Masters level.
Wellbeing
The Hampshire SCITT Partnership takes the wellbeing of its trainees very seriously. We work in partnership with the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service to carry our pre-employment checks for all trainees. Once you have been accepted onto the programme, there are a number of options available for any trainee who feels they need support. Additional information can be found here.
Employment
We are committed to training the best teachers – for Hampshire as well as nationally. Our recruitment is based on our potential to employ teachers in our partner schools and each year a significant number of our trainees gain jobs with us. Obviously not everyone chooses to stay in Hampshire and last year some of our trainees gained jobs in London, Surrey and Wiltshire.
Continuing Professional Development
The Hampshire SCITT Partnership is closely linked to the Teaching School Hub which supports teachers at all stages of their career. Their NQT programme supports trainees who gain jobs in our partner schools in their first years of teaching and we continue to offer support in their development as outstanding practitioners for as long as trainees teach in our partner schools. This includes middle leadership and senior leadership training.
