The Hampshire SCITT Partnership provided me with a training programme where I could learn directly from leading practitioners in their field and then put their ideas into practice with my classes. In addition, their network of dedicated and professional mentors supported me to achieve my best through what can be a tough year.”

The Hampshire SCITT Partnership prepares trainees to teach the 11-16 age range. The programme leads to recommendation for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). It is designed to ensure that trainees meet the Teachers’ Standards to gain QTS. However, the programme aims to do more than this: to provide trainees with insights into teaching beyond the Standards.
Across the partnership, the aim is to produce teachers who are effective in classrooms, reflective about issues they face and who will make a positive contribution to the profession.
The Hampshire SCITT Partnership aims to:
- provide trainees with high quality training at postgraduate level within a school environment focused on excellent outcomes
- ensure that its continuing professional development activities are responsive to the educational needs of partners and the local community
- develop and support active curriculum innovation and academic enterprise
- engage actively with partnership organisations and external agencies to provide outstanding training
